Carl Schmidt
Carl received his first electrical training in the U.S. Navy. He served eight years as a nuclear trained electrician on submarines, including nearly four years as a crew member of the deep submersible submarine, NR-1. Carl worked for five years in the sensor industry, first as a technician, and then as a design engineer after graduating with a B.S. EET degree from Devry. He primarily worked with optical sensors and encoders. Before joining the Lewellyn Team, Carl worked at Nucor Steel for more than 11 years, first as a maintenance engineer, then as a maintenance supervisor. He has worked with 34.5 KV, 4160 V, and 480 VAC distribution equipment. He's also worked with AC and DC motors and drive equipment to 10,000 HP, PLC's and many other types of automation and control equipment.
