Understanding Electrical Drawings
In this one-day seminar you will learn to read and understand basic electrical drawings. If you are responsible for the repair and maintenance of electrical equipment, knowing how to read electrical drawings is essential. This course is great for both the beginner and for someone with years of experience but no formal training. We will cover topics that personnel involved in electrical maintenance must know to effectively use electrical diagrams to troubleshoot or build circuits. This is not a seminar on electrical theory; the discussion will be practical and led by an instructor with many years of industrial maintenance experience.
You will learn the symbols and terminology used in electrical drawings. Understanding what these symbols and terms represent is the foundation for reading electrical diagrams and becoming a more effective troubleshooter.
Actual electrical diagrams of machinery will be used to reinforce print standards and will be used in realistic troubleshooting examples led by the instructor. If you are having trouble understanding a particular drawing from your facility, bring it with you to class. The instructor will be happy to go over it one-on-one.
